The Theatre Wing of the Thomaston-Upson Arts Council provides opportunity for members of the local community to participate in authentic theatre productions. From its inception, the Theatre Wing has encouraged and recruited local talent in acting, singing, dancing, directing, lighting, set construction and stage crew in order to produce high quality performances for their community to enjoy. Throughout the years participants of all ages have enjoyed their starring moments in the spotlight on stage at the R.E. Lee Auditorium.
The Theatre Wing proudly presents two major productions per year. A Talent Show, presented during the Winter Season, showcases an array of musical and dancing performances from all age participants. The spring brings around the annual TUAC play. This production aligns itself to a Broadway replica with all the costumes, sets, choreography and musical selections one would expect to see on a New York stage. TUAC’s Theatre Wing is Community Theatre at its best. Some of the past productions include such favorites as Oklahoma, South Pacific, Guys and Dolls, Once Upon a Mattress, The Fantasticks, Smokey Joe’s Café, and Crazy for You.
TUAC’s Theatre Wing is Community Theatre where everyone can be a star!
