Each year TUAC’s Visual Arts Chairperson works closely with the TUAC director and staff to assure that the TUAC gallery has something new to show. All of the gallery shows are open to the public. All schools as well as other
organizations have a standing invitation to visit the gallery and any group wishing to organize an educational field trip need only to call the TUAC office to set up a time. By request, the Visual Arts chair and/or volunteers can conduct gallery education talks about the work in the gallery to further stimulate interest and answer questions.
Over the years many educational as well as fun visual artist events have been held inside the Gallery for all ages. A few examples of past Visual Arts activities are holiday card competitions for school students, high school art
shows, face painting, photography activities, Scribble Story art lessons to encourage development, watercolor classes, drawing sketch groups, and pottery fun exercises. For the last several years, to highlight local talent, we have held a Mistletoe Market where local artists can display and sell works in an open market environment.
Looking to the future, it is our hopes that the Visual Arts program can be expanded to house the growing permanent collection so that everyone can enjoy these items every day instead of just on occasion.
